They're expensive. It's better to join a gym that has really nice expensive models, if you have that option. I'm so lucky that a brand spankin new gym opened 2 weeks ago 5 minutes walk from where I live and I joined on the 1st day it opened and use it everyday except Sunday. It's got awesome treadmills that jack up when you increase the % grade to simulate going uphill which truly is much harder. You get the $10,000 kind of large treadmill with video screen at this gym. There's nothing like good 1 hour 20 minute cardio workouts that just make you sleep like a baby. It really is a huge improvement on your quality of life and I commend you on wanting one. It's only 50,000 won a month plus 40 hours a month.
With the gym, you also get weights and expensive weight machines to do on alternate days with 50 minutes of cardio afterward. If you're lucky, you get a trainer who supervises your use of the equipment, but also helps to motivate you a little.
If you don't have a gym to join, a cheaper option is to get a stair stepper or stationary cycle and some free weights with a bench. I use the stair stepper and stationary bike too as they have excellent benefits the treadmill doesn't simulate. |
