Please please me.. with no more mail, Ringo says

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has told fans to stop sending letters and requests for autographs, saying mail will be thrown away after October 20 because he has too much to do.

Starr, 68, made the announcement in a video message titled "Sorry, No More Signing Stuff" posted on his official web site www.ringostarr.com.. Wearing sunglasses and flashing a peace sign, he says;

"I want to tell you after the 20th of October please do not send fan mail to any address you have. Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it's gonna be tossed.

I'm also shocked that he's 68 already.

Anyway, some of the lyrics to my favorite Ringo song:

Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues
And you know it don't come easy
You don't have to shout or leap about
You can even play them easy.

It would have been a lot cooler if he had said.........

"Dear fans,I love getting all your mail and memorabilia, but as I'm getting up in years and there are a lot of constraints on my time,I may not be able to sign much fan stuff in the future.I appreciate your continued support and once again, thanks for being such loyal fans over the years."

I think he alienated some ppl by being so blunt.Afterall, his fans are what made him filthy rich and successful.

Reporter: Do you think Ringo is the best drummer in the world?
John Lennon: He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles.

Paul, George and Ringo have appeared on The Simpsons at different times over the years, but the appearance that still stands out to me is Ringo's, where his butler is still bringing him sacks of mail his fans sent him in the 1960s and 70s. He finally gets around to answering Marge's fan letter from all those years ago...

I'm also reminded of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer decides he wants to permanently opt out of all mail for the rest of his life, but is talked out of it by the Postmaster General.

... you're all full of it. Jimmy Chamberlin is the best, followed by Adam Gust of the Red Elvises.

Ringo sucks balls.

Roger Taylor was pretty damn good. Can't really say who the best was.
