So my GEPIK health questionnaire wants to know if I have any tattoos. I do have one small one, it's not a "visible" tattoo. None of my students or colleagues will see it.
Obviously I don't want to lie, there's a chance the doctor might notice it when I have my health check done. I just want to know whether anyone has had any problems with this. |

| Yeah, I'm pretty sure they check for that. They can be pretty nosey here and will call the hospital. Besides, why did you ever get a tattoo? Don't you think that was a little bit irresponsible? Just think about it; you're going to be teaching children. I don't know, man. |

I wouldn't lie about it. Mine is hidden as well but was seen by the doctor during my tb test. No big deal, my other colleague has 5 visible tattoos.
As for the previous post, I don't see why having a tattoo is not appropriate for a teacher if it's hidden. |

| I ignored that part of the questionnaire, and advise you to as well. |

| I have seven on my upper arms so not visable. On the application I was honest and mentioned that I always wear a shirt that covers them at work. Nobody have ever questioned or mentioned it. I would suggest be open and honest about that one but also mention that it is covered at all times. |

I'm sure he was being sarcastic. |

| Thanks. I knew there were lots of other teachers out there with tattoos, and I didn't expect it to be a problem. I'm a little paranoid with these new rules though, especially how anything iffy seems to be the choice of one or two people who may or may not be in a good mood that day. |

Don't be paranoid, you said it was small and that none of your colleagues will ever see it, right? Don't say anything. They do not conduct strip searches....the poster who alluded to that was clearly joking.
I've got a small one and everyone sees it eventually. Nobody says anything. I tell children it's a stamp. No big deal. |

| I WAS thinking of saying no, and if questioned (because the doctor sees it) claiming that I either got it after, or thought it meant visible or forgot about it... I actually do forget about it for weeks at a time. |

You'll do what you're comfortable with. Like I said, I just ignored that bit.
Earrings should be fine...some of my students have them also. They're elementary age boys. |

My students have seen my tattoo and i havent had a problem.
I would be honest. Even if they have a problem with it (which i doubt that will) there are tonnes of jobs that wont. |

| Tell your students you got the tattoo in prison. Then maybe they'll behave in class. |
