I will be completing my BBA (bachelor of business admin) this year and am wondering if this is going to cause problems for recruitment. I am planning on getting my TESOL certificate but I want to make sure that my degree is recognized.
Has anyone on these boards taught in Korea with a BBA? |

I know people doing it. It doesn't mater what bachelors you have, as long as you have a 4 year degree. |

Not to get into semantics with you, but, some universities offer 3 year bachelor degrees, which are also acceptable. But you are right, it doesn't matter what field the Bachelor's degree is in. |

They don't care if you have a BA in recreation related studies or general studies or if you studied hotel management. If I had a BBA, I would get a master's in business instead of coming here. Make sure you know what you are doing when you are looking for a job over here. |

They don't care if you have a BA in recreation related studies or general studies or if you studied hotel management. Just make sure you are aiming for a good job, and do your homework. |

The last thing I want to do is more university, and with the financial meltdown in Canada the job prospects are not that hot. I'm considering Taiwan as well, as it sounds like their is more scope for privates. But it's still early days as I don't graduate until may 2009 and probably wouldn't leave until next october. |

I have a BSBA with finance as my specialization. Foreign exchange risk is hitting home right now! I also have a TESOL which isn't needed here. No problems ... |

My BS is in Accounting. They really don't care at all as long as it is a degree from a recognized/accredited college.

I think the OP's concern is that most literature says you need a BA/BS to get a job in Korea. A BBA is not either of these. The good news is that I thing the "B" part is all they care about.
In some circles there is a stigma against any degree that doesn't have an A or an S as the second letter (a sesame street-esque conundrum). MBAs and BBAs and even ABAs are mad popular lately but it is usually better to go for an MS in Business admin or whatnot |
