Given they are running out of money quickly, you would think they would be putting money into activities which actually get votes.
Of course this is just another mass hysteria left thing. It's not like they ACTUALLY want to win the election, right? |

I thought the expenses for Nieman Marcus, Saks, and Bloomingdales were excessive. $75,000 in one go? They could have easily spent less and clothed her just as well. Supported struggling American designers for starters.
Valentino is not a great way to connect with hockey moms and Wal Mart ladies. The average American family spends $1,800 a year on clothes.
Cindy McCain's outfit at the convention was estimated to be $300,000 of cloth and bling.
The Repubs are discouragingly clueless while the markets dive and everyone's watching their retirement funds vanish.
But then the white country club crowd just doesn't live in the same reality the rest of us do. |

It's the "money makes you funny (in the head) club".
I worked as a kid and into my uni years during school vacations at my brother's classic car auto restoration shop. We worked on only really high-end stuff (Ferraris, 356 Porsches, gull-wing Mercedes, you get the point..).
I met quite a few celebs, some more famous than others (for example Carl Weathers - he had lots of older Rolls Royces, Hall from Hall and Oates fame - huge Ferrari guy, J. Geils from the J. Geils Band - he had some old E-type Jags we worked on), but they all seem to be laid-back guys who would chill out and shoot the shit while having a coffee and a donut. Same with the customers that had become wealthy but had worked their way up from modest beginnings.
Then you had the a-holes who grew up in money and had never worked a day in their lives, nor would they ever have to (and they were obviously well aware of the fact). They were the most difficult, needling, demanding, whiny sons of bitches who expected us to turn their, for instance, 1957 Maserati (which was only 1 of 2 existing in the world, and had been found at the bottom of a lake in Germany and had just been shipped to us) into a diamond in three months because they wanted to show their friends in the Hamptons that summer (true story).
That's the 'money makes you funny club'. I met many of them. Unfortunately, they are constantly rewarded for their bad behavior by virtue of the fact that most people want some of what they have. |

Well Joo, here's my rant.
Democrats handed the country over to George Bush with a healthy economy, balanced budget and very low debt. Bush's father lost over a wrecked economy from 8 years of enriching their wealthy friends with military and oil contracts as well.
8 years of Bush Jr and look where we are now. Same shyte different day. Except the reach of globalization makes this financial crisis much worse.
I'm going to point out again that every single serious market crash the last 80 years has occurred under a Republican admin--without exception.
Anyone seeing a really obvious pattern here?
So when Repubots start going on about Democrats' "wasteful spending" I tend to get disgusted at the worst kind of hypocrisy.
I will always be a Democrat because food to eat and comprehensive health care for the little guy is more important than cutting billion $ deals with country-club friends to make marble bathrooms and $50,000 curtains possible for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th homes. Especially in a country as developed as the US.
But I've long understood that for them spending isn't considered "wasteful" when it's a Republican admin enriching their wealthy friends at the expense of the country's basic financial soundness--and these days everyone's retirement funds.
Republicans election to high office in this country = handing them and their small coterie of friends a golden opportunity to enrich themselves....enthusiastically and without fail while any barriers to pursue these ends are swept aside.
8 years of supporting the profligacy and corruption of a small % of the population....KBR and Haliburton's cosy billion $ no-bid contracts, the list goes on and on.
This does not make me a "socialist" or a "liberal"-- handy labels to justify their consistent $ irresponsibility and malfeasance.
I'm just horrified with this culture of the Republican party. And I haven't even touched upon their even more grossly hypocritical version of "morality" they try to impose on all of us either.
And an underachieving half-wit to lead these last 8 years to boot!
It boggles the mind. |

Here are some Major causes of the deficit:
The 2000 recession -> started before Bush was president
The first stockmarket meltdown -> started before Bush was president.
9-11 attacks -> Planned before Bush was president. The hijackers were in the US before Bush was president.
High oil prices -> Oil dropped to 12 dollars when Clinton was president.
A lot of the subprime lending practices started before Bush was president.
When Clinton was president Russia was down and out.
As I said I voted for Gore in 2000 cause I didn't agree with Bush's tax cuts but there are a lot of well educated people who will tell you that tax cuts increase productivity.
If high taxes are a solution then why is Europe' economic growth behind that of the US?
