I know the FAQ covers how to deal with companies in Korea that do ordering by mail (over the Internet), and although that FAQ is really outdated, this question is more directed at those who have been doing business with other companies in the US that actually are willing to do business over here (in other words, that don't treat us as if we just dropped off the face of the planet).

A friend of mine told me that her sister in Africa uses Amazon Grocery to send products to herself in Africa. I tried to do orders from Amazon Grocery before finally someone from Amazon informed me they don't "do" South Korea. I tried to order a few other things, and each time I got the error message for trying to order anything from Amazon. I haven't tried any of their normal stuff, like books and Kindle, and that crap, but I'm guessing that might be easier. But I'm looking for more convenience like items right now as I've recently just arrived here.

I tried Walmart. They don't do business overseas, according to their site. Newegg doesn't do business overseas either (for computer parts).

I then went to Sears, because I remember how in MASH the doctors used the Sears catalog to send a bathtub to Korea. They don't send overseas either.

So, has anyone found companies that are friendly to doing business with those of us here? Any advice on this other than having someone back home buy something and send it here (yes, I'm blatantly well aware of this option)?

rei, llbean, etc. no prob. In fact most companies will send stuff to Korea for extra shipping. amazon, try the aussie amazon, i think they cover Korea if I remember correctly.

Walmart used to be in Korea, they couldn't compete with Emart and closed down I think it was 2005

I didn't really find a way to access Australia's Amazon site. Tried looking for it and just got a few links that weren't actual official to Amazon. I'll have to try later on that.

I had big hopes for Amazon's grocery items because that meant being able to get items that I really wanted. I don't understand how someone in Nigeria can get Amazon grocery items but we can't. It's not like we're some hole in the world somewhere.
