One of the questions i keep getting asked is what blood type i am.

I understand why this is important to Koreans (at the minute i cannot give them an answer because i dont know my blood type!

I have emailed home to get my parents to look it up in my medical records!)

Anyway what is the 'best' most desirable blood type Koreans look for?

Also what is the 'scum' blood type? It would be quite funny to know both so i can mix and match my answers until i find out my actual blood type!

It should be good fun seeing some of the reactions to the 'scum' blood type!

Thanks for any answers!!!

I guess the scum blood type would be 'B'... You might want to pretend to be an 'A' ....

Interesting link: http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/what-is-your-blood-type-i-am-b-apparently-it-sucks-to-be-b-in-korea/

The previous got to the "scum" type before me, but here's a description of the significance of each blood type from one expat's blog (http://survivingsouthkorea.blogspot.com/2007/02/tomorrows-post.html):

Quote:
Heres a Blood Type Personality Chart:

Type A

Best Traits: Conservative, introverted, reserved, patient and punctual. Perfectionists. Worst Traits: Obsessive, stubborn, self conscious and uptight.

Type B

Best Traits: Creative, passionate, animal loving, optimistic, flexible and individualistic. Worst Traits: Forgetful, irresponsible, and self-centered.

Type AB

Best Traits: Cool, controlled, rational, introverted and empathic. Worst Traits: Aloof, critical, indecisive and unforgiving.

Type O

Best Traits: Ambitious, athletic, robust and self-confident. Natural leaders. Worst Traits: Arrogant, vain, insensitive and ruthless.

Does your blood type suit your personality? Let's hear it!

I'm an AB, and everytime I tell people they gasp.

Apparently, if you are an AB blood-type, you are either a psychopath, or a genius.

AB here too. I heard it was either we are retarded or geniuses.

It's nice being the universal recipient anyway.

Whenever anyone asks me what my blood type is, I just tell them they're falling for decades-old Nazi propaganda that was originally intended to demonstrate the inferiority of Jews and Asians.

i'm type a, but people usually find that most of my strengths and weaknesses are vastly similar to b. i love how these kinds of "studies" attempt to pigeonhole people, as opposed to admitting that everyone, regardless of bloodtype, is unique.

Yes because all people on Earth fit into 1 of 4 groups based on the blood in their veins.....sounds logical to me. Why not.

I'm an AB. That's fairly accurate - even 'indecisive and unforgiving'. Fortunately it's hard to offend me.

My hapkido master boggled when I told him. But no one else has asked yet.

Actually, it was used before the Nazis. Some Europeans did it to map out racial movements between the various Caucasian groups and showed where A was more prevalent versus O in Europe and things like that, and how the blood type of people from the northern parts of the Middle East is often different from that of Arabians, because of the mixing with Europeans and the like. Of course, separating people based on blood types does tie into some form of prejudice, and it is a primitive concept, I think.

True, but it was the Nazis who pointed out that Jews and Asians have a higher occurrence of type B, and inferred based on this that type B is obviously inferior. And it reached Japan through their Nazi allies

I think O blood type is usually the best. I'm an A blood type and that's usually second best.

A lot of women steer clear of B blood type men but a lot of girls like them.

It seems similar to the old medical theory of the four humours.

I'm O negative blood type. Which sucks while I'm here cus theres maybe a few dozen people here that can help me if I get hurt. But the donor clinics love me since us universal donors are one of the rarist and most sought after blood types.
