One of my friends brought an Xbox360 from Canada. It's unchipped. They can't seem to connect to the internet with it. They plug it it, but when it's searching for the network provider it gets an error (maybe DNS) and says to call the ISP. They called and the ISP couldn't help.

Thanks for any help.

I had some difficulty getting my own hooked up to live a while back, but I assure you it can be done easily. You will have to get all the info they ask for like DNS and the other ones, (can't think of em Confused )

But i also found that if you go through a router it does it all for you automatically, I was having problems trying at my friends place, and then we tried going through a router and it all zipped through the hoops and we were in. So maybe if yo have one of em lying around try that.

Oh yea one more thing...and most important...if you are unplugging the modem from your computer and putting it into your 360 be sure to reset the modem everytime you change (turn it off and on). For some reason the modem remembers the last machine it is hooked up to and that is where your issues are coming from I think.

Try that first and it may just zip through the hoops. Let me know how it works out.

Yeah I can tell you from experience that what he says about turning the modem off and then back on has to be done. Even then sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries. I bought a router but still had to have my friend come over to set it up initially. Good luck..................let me know if you are playing NHL 09, it is AWESOME!!
