I got offered a job at Jangrim Elementary School (http://www.jangrim.es.kr/)

I can't find an English version of the site, and I googled it but didn't have any luck. I also just tried "Jangrim" to see what I could get, and I got something in Chungcheongbuk-do and one in Busan. I'm supposed to be in Busan.

I'm just trying to find out as much as I can before I go. Does anyone know anything about this school or where it might be?

I should add that I asked my recruiter and have yet to hear, so I thought I'd try you guys.

Thanks for the help!

Well, if it's supposed to be in Busan I'd bet it's the hit you got there. I'd say probably every public school no matter how small has it's own website here in Korea.

Sorry, yeah, I'm assuming it's the hit from Busan, and it seemed like a manufacturer of some sort, and didn't say where it was exactly.

It does have a website (in the original post) but it's only available in Korean, which I can't read.

I also checked the Busan subway map hoping there would be a station called Jangrim, but that would've been too easy if there was. Smile

From the looks of the website, you will be near Shinpyeong Station on line 1. I am not in Busan, and have only visited once. So I can't give anymore info than that.

Well that's more than I've found out so far! I really appreciate you taking the time to check out the site for me. Thank you!

If anyone knows more about this area, please let me know. My biggest concern is whether it's a relatively safe area for a woman to be by herself in the evenings, possibly as late as 9 or 10pm.

I'm your new best friend Laughing Laughing

I lived in Dadaepo which is about 1 mile from where Jangnim is in Busan!

It's an industrial area, that's not a joke. There are alot of chemical plants and manufacturing facilities. A good mix of Russians and Pakistanis work there also.

Jangnim is near Sinpyeong Subway Station. The area is called Saha-gu which comprises Dadaepo, Saha, Goejeong, Jangnim and Hadan.

You are about 30 minutes from Seomyeon by Subway or 45 minutes by bus, take the 1000. Bus 11 gets you to Sinpyeong, 96 gets you to Goejeong subway station.

The nearest party area is Hadan, however there are not alot of foreigners, mostly Koreans who go to Dong A University. Saha-gu is a pretty boring area. There is the Newcore Outlet that has descent shopping if your thin enough for Korean clothes.

Dadaepo beach is pretty nice and Molundae is a nice Island to get out of the city so to speak. However swimming is not that great as the water has metal shards from the local YK Steel plant near by.

Overall its an OK area but nothing to get excited over. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Oh, it's a pretty safe area as well, not much crime from what I noticed.

Good Luck.
