I might be taking a vacation in Seoul for 2 weeks during xmas break.

Will I be able to rent a scooter 50cc? Anyone know how much it would cost for 2 weeks?

I hope I don't get mauled by cars during the holidays. hehe.

I don't think anyone does.

Two weeks?

At the rate they'd charge here, you'd be better of buying a used old 50cc at Chungmuro, driving it around, and selling it when you go. Even if you didn't sell it for much, you'd probably come out ahead.

You can get a used 50cc for as low as 300 000 won, probably lower. I buy them, they last a year and then crap out.

I've got one in Bundang. 300,000. I'll be putting it on the buy and sell forum soon.

Yeah you guys are right. 300,000W isn't too bad at all, especially with the current exchange rates.

If I park it outside in random spots overnight in Seoul, will it get stolen? I'm just planning on roaming around by myself, sleeping in jjim jil bangs, and cruising somewhere else the next day.

You can expect wear and tear such as random vandalism, accidents, and attempts at theft. That's why I always buy the cheapest possible scooter.

It's pretty damn cold around Xmas to be riding a scooter around. I wouldn't call it enjoyable, especially if you're gonna be on vacation.

Yep, go to Thailand and you can rent 125 CC Honda Dream or Wave or a Yamaha Mio bikes outside of Bangkok for like 150 to 200 baht a day. It's a lot of fun, but no insurance is offered should you get into an accident and they hold your passport.

I wouldn't mind if I could rent a car or motorcycle in Korea for the weekend occasionally.
