I knew I'd remember what else I was told. My English Coordinator told me that Korean students ability in the Korean language has decreased because of ME.

He specifically told me "because of YOU,"(me the English Teacher) and/or the importance LMB/Korean Gov. has placed on English. He may or may not have meant the and/or bit, but that's not how he said it.

Just another POINT THY FINGER AT THE FOREIGNER moment. This was after he told me..."If I were you I wouldn't be/stay here in S. Korea and teach English." I actually get along with this guy but some of the stuff he says is freakin punch in the face material.

Just be nice and say stuff right back to him. Like "Because of the existence of English, you have a job" or something way out if left field like "If I were you, I'd get out of this country because of the nuclear threat from North Korea" or "I don't think students' Korean abilities are affected since most Koreans teach English improperly by using too much Korean in class and the way Koreans study English..." Something like that. There are many responses that would shut him up.

I really don't know what I'd say. It would depend. One time I might say nothing or the other time I might say "Whatever, I'm going for a smoke" or "Maybe you're right. It's definitely something to think about." Who knows?
