Nice Italian place in Ingyedong. NOT koreanized.
Menu is in Italian and Korean and its pretty classy (compared to pretty much anything outside of Seoul). Rather pricy though, I was there about 6months ago and a meal for 2 including wine (1 glass each) cost about W50k, I'd expect it to have gone up.
It's on the 2nd/3rd floor in the CGV building. Take a taxi and say Ingyedong CGV, or take bus 83, 83-1 from suwon station and get off on the main street where ALL the banks are. |

If I lived in Suwon still it would be galbi every day, every meal. As far as foreign food, you're not all that far from Ansan, where there is a large migrant worker population (read: not spoilt university-graduate anglophones), and numerous restaurants catering to them. |

I'll have to check out Ansan one these days based on that recomendation. As for Suwon I know of a decent Thai place near the New Core in Ingyedong. It's just next to it on the 2nd or 3rd floor. It's not exactly fancy, but it's decent eats and something different.
Also about 200meters up from the Crazy Duck there is a cool wine place which has bottles down to 30,000원 which is great for dates as well. Just look up and to the left while walking, it's on the 4th floor, and read 와인. |

Having a diverse migrant population is geat for bringing in a host of
different grub...i'm all for it when I can find it.
If you like uzbeki food ( in Osan), there is a decent place next to
the "cinema town". Filling hearty chow. |

Oh yeah, a Turkish restaurant was recommended to me nearby Suwon Station. I saw it from the big intersection, but of course didn't eat there. |

There is a restaurant on Manseok Park that I really enjoy. It has a combination of Korean and Western dishes but it is western style seating and decor, but the best part is the setting. It is a second floor restaurant, and the patio overlooks the lake and they play north american style music. It is just a very nice setting, private and relaxing with a gorgeous lake to look at, and on the hour a water show comes on in the lake with music. Anyways, I think the restaurant is best described to be on the road that is on the quieter southside of the lake. You will recognize it not only because of the large patio and table settings, but also because next door is a western style gourmet coffee shop with all English writing on its exterior. From Suwon Station the buses that would go close to the park/lake would be 301, or 777. |

There is kind of a Shabu-Shabu buffet near Suwon Station we all like. I'm not sure if it is that, exactly. You get to get seafood and bring it to your table and boil it. Has a Sushi bar and other dishes. It's only 12k won the times I've been there. It's on the second floor of the KTG building.
There is an Uzbekistan place down from Suwon Station. You have to go past the KTG(KGT whateveR) building and it's on the right. Hit or miss if it is open during the day or not. |

Probably. A couple friends went there to see what it was like (I've never been) and brought me back Uzbek or something beer. |

Why travel all the way to Ansan when you have Borobodur there near the station/RLD? Damn good satay last time I popped in.

Not really. When I go down there to eat/hang out/visit friends I usually get a Bintang or Qingdao and hang outside a convenience store. Most DDD workers don't make enough to booze it up like teachers. |
