Just had the ISP technician stop by. Complete waste of time. As soon as he saw English I could tell he pretty much gave up. To compound his utter disbelief and shock, it was Mac OS X too. The look on his face was great.

Still though, i tried to explain that to send email with my email program, i need the SMTP (outgoing) mail server. Typically it's something like mail.isp.com or smtp.isp.com. He told me that in Korea they don't have that. That can't be right... *sigh*

Anyone have any clues on how to get this?

P.S. I got stuck with a slow-ass 9Mbps connection too. At home in the states i had a 25Mbps connection...sheesh.

I am an MCSE. Feel free to PM me if you want. You can use other smtp services. They don't have to be the same as your POP server. For instance, smtp.com sells a relatively cheap service. What email provider are you using?

If your ISP has provided you with an email account then the SMTP should be with the account details, you should just call and try to speak to someone in English, no need for a tech to come to your house. its just an address that you need.

btw who is your ISP?

this should be moved to tech forum.

If you're using Kornet (KT), I believe it's mail.kornet.net for both incoming and outgoing.
