Anyone sending gifts back to SA for Christmas??
I'd like to send fun little things but I've heard people on the receiving end need to pay quite a bit to accept them...
Does anyone know how much this would be, and what's the best way to send them??

Just mail them at the post office, and don't say what the true value is.

I've been doing it for years. Never had a problem, and none of my friends have either, except with soju samplers, which were just stolen by customs and probably consumed by them.

Maybe it's different in Afrikka, but if there's no unpaid tax on these goods (since you didn't mark them as expensive), then customs doesn't get involved. Then there's no fee for accepting them.

You might want to get on that though since things slow down quickly around Christmas.
