so just curious, are foreigners able to use local public libraries? i think i remember hearing it somewhere but i could definitely be wrong. so, anyone have a library card? and is there even a decent english selection to choose from? i know about the book swap in itaewon, missed the last one though. and i have some friends i can swap with. although i'm very protective of my books, i don't know if i'll be able to lend out many... so i'm just curious about it guess:) |

The size of the selection depends on the size of the library, in my experience here. That's for books actually on the shelves. There is an inter-library loan service.
The libraries in Busan don't actually use a library card. What you do is register with the library using your Alien Registration Card. When you check a book out, the librarian will scan your card and the book and then tell you when the book is due. Extra good news is that there's no fine for overdue books--at least, there wasn't when I returned two books about a month late. |
