When you buy chocolates, biscuits etc. you'll find the company behind these products is called Lotte.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotte
It was set up by the Koreans after WW2. It's very western in style and taste.
The point is I love some of the Lotte chocolate sold at Homeplus.
So, Korea actually has some excellent food, even if it is only for dessert.
It's a pity about their main cuisine though.
Do you enjoy Lotte products?
Please stay on topic, I'd be offended if you speak highly of other non-Korean brands. |

Since I'm very particular what I eat (lest I ingest any meat, fish, or eggs) either they need to start listing all their ingredients in English (or I need to improve my Korean reading skills ...) before I buy their products with confidence. |

I like the Milk Africa milk chocolate wafers and the biscotti from Italy.
I find it hard to trust Korean products after learning all about the beer having bad chemicals used to brew a batch in 1 day instead of taking 30 days as beer should. OK, food has nothing to do with adding chemicals to speed up the manufacturing process, or does it? It could with some products that require a maturation or fermentation period of some sort which sweet stuff usually doesn't require. Large corporations love to add chemicals to speed things up and to make it taste better as to sell more and maximize profits. Corporate profits and executive bonuses come long before the general public's health safety is even considered in the East and the West, but it tends to be more corrupted with cheap chemicals in the East.
MSG's are also a big big no no commonly found in Asian foods, but that has to do with noodles and hot cooked foods; not confectionery. Asian people mostly simply don't know that they're doing very wrong things when it comes to food and drink manufacturing as that's all they know. I just feel everyone going to Asia should be informed. Same for organic food lovers from Europe going to America as America still uses hydrogenated shortening and chemicals.
Most the Lotte products I taste tested are fairly decent to just boring, but I'm not too crazy about all that super dark chocolate they do. Milk Africa is the one milk chocolate product. I would expect many preservatives are found in a large corporations products as is common in America maybe even more so in Asia as they tend to over work and downright just over do things in an attempt to outdo themselves. This is their concept of good service. |

Sorry, I don't really like Korean snacks, especially desserts. |

Lotte is the same boring mass-produced crap that you were shoving in your gullet in whatever hole you crawled out of. There's tastes-like-shit-but-edible and tastes-like-shit. You only have two options. |
