Hi,
A friend of mine mentioned that The Pirate Bay was monitored and therefore potentially incriminating. He said they store the details of what you've downloaded and could potentially pass those details onto the authorities.
With that in mind, what bit torrent sites are good but under the radar? |

I use pirate bay all the time.
mininova.org is another goodie.
btmon.com
In korea though, dont sweat downloading from Pirate Bay.
You might want to look at private tracker sites.
And also download PEER GUARDIAN 2!!!!! to block up wanted ip's. |

And why do you say that?
There are multiple people on here.. who have been called by KTF and given the thread of disconnection because of piracy. Don't think that just because you are in Korea you are safe. |

No, but they do monitor bandwidth usage, as do all ISPs, and an avid down loader or seeder can use a lot of bandwidth.
My average is about 1.5Mb/s for seeding and that can double when I am down loading active files. You can use a lot of bandwidth in a hurry at those rates.
Encrypt your data transfers and use a port above 43000 to avoid problems with KT.

They don't .. but if you download things uploaded by police agencies who collect your ip address (it is pretty much impossible to hide) and they contact your isp you will get a phone call. |

I use www.torrentpond.com basically, it's an indexing site which searches multiple free torrent sites (including, btjunkie, mininova and the pirate bay). |

Pirate bay have long fought attempts by industry organisations to force them to give up any data they may have on there users. They're pretty damned committed to protecting people privacy. I feel perfectly comfortable getting torrents from them. |

lol, they can easily get your ip address from downloading a torrent.. that.. coupled with a threatening call to your ip is enough for your ip to give up your info or at least terminate your service. |

Sure, but that's an inherent problem with any torrent you download, regardless of the site you find it on. |
