I have been at a Hagwan here in Ulsan for almost 60 days now. I have been paid once, with my next payday coming in about 12 days. My contract says I get 2.2 million won per month, but I was paid 2.0, told I would get a receipt for what 200k was taken out. I asked about it the other day with no real answer. I am pretty sure that I am not getting pension for november, and at this point I am also concenred about december. I have no idea if they even took out Tax. I saw my gas bill, all I know that is it said 8,700 won.

Without causing a major stir.....how can I fix this stuff? (things have been pretty tolerable lately, after my first couple weeks which were hell because of the director on my case everyday)

My questions are; What is the Tax rate and how can I find out if they are paying it?

What deduction totals do you guys have total each month? I figured about 200,000 won, but I am unsure....especially if pension is not being paid into.

Thanks in advance

It could have been a housing/damage deposit. You should be getting pay stubs. Tell your boss you need pay stubs to wire money home. There should be a complete breakdown of what you paid out,

They already know I dont need paystub to mail cash home. They watched me wire 1.3 million won home without a stub.

Tell your employer that you need itemised pay stubs each month, with breakdowns of all deductions, because you'll need the figures in order to calculate your "Year End Tax Settlement" from him (which you can do using the online calculator at the [www.nts.go.kr] website. That will let him know in no uncertain terms that you are on to his apparent dishonest ways and don't intend to let him get away with any attempt to pocket your taxes, or defraud the Korean government! If an employer refuses to provide you with an itemised pay stub, he's being dishonest in some way as I found out with my employer of three months today!! Good luck!

I've asked before, and I will ask again. Most of your concerns can be cleared up with a quick conversation. A number of English teachers are meeting tonight for a bit of drinking and talking. Shoot me a message. You can join in our little circle for the night and get some sound advice. We will be near Ilsan Beach.
