i have seen three:

when the boards changed format in 2002

when the post count stopped in the spring of 2004, and,... shortly thereafter:

when the wackiest waygooks went elsewhere on the web in the summer of 2004

1. I loved the pre-2003 format. Took me a while to adjust

2. The departure of that whacko who was always going on about the North's imminent invasion (ca. 2002-2003). Can't remember his name. Short, one or two syllables. Similar to Matko, or Endo ... anyone know who I'm talking about?

3. The recent invasion by Cubanloard and Flotsam. Not that I have a problem with them, but they both kinda popped out of nowhere and can now be found in prett much every thread.

4. Personally, when I started to realize that Homer wasn't an idiot. I still don't know why people label him an "apologist". He seems quite rational to me.

5. Seeing Chimpocalloa's (sp way off) pic and realizing, "hey, there are hot westnerners in Korea"[/b]

I suspect some of the "pivotal moments" are still too controversial to talk too much about here. My picks:

2003
story of the year: Iraq + mindless US vs Canada board blight

tabloid scandal: The Wombat thing

2004
story of the year: US Election, + mindless US vs Canada board blight

tabloid scandal: Dave's server crashed

2005
story of the year: Spectrumgate (can we say that now?) & other assorted anti-waeguk Korean media-fueled tizzies ("Most users ever online was 463 on Thu Jan 13, 2005 8:39 pm!!")

tabloid scandal: The Katydid thing

That's change. I freaking hated waiting 12-24 hours to read a reply to a post.

Nah, Real Reality is someone else.

Last I heard Anda was hunkered
Down in a reinforced bunker
Somewhere Down Under
Waiting for the bombs to fall on her.

Anda was a chick?

As for pivitol moments, there was the big William Beckerson soap opera back in late 2003.

By the way, what ever happened to 'Joe Thanks'?
