| They sell fresh green beans at Hannam Market. But I think there are only like 15 in a pack, or some bull*hit like that. They might sell frozen too. Look in the freezers across from the veggie fridge. |

I found cans of green beans and cream of mushroom soup on Gmarket, but French's onions appear to be absent. Funny thing is a search using English would not turn up most American and Australian products available, but I stumbled on some by accident by searching what all items a seller has. Many sellers will have one item with an English word that allowed me find it and then have 2000 other western items in Hangul. It took time as this ginormous site runs slow.
Turkey is also absent as orange prune thingys (probably dried apricots) come up in a site search. I guess they don't have gobblers in Asia. |

When I was at Costco at the beginning of this month, they had full sized American turkeys. They cost an arm and a leg though. I spent about 70,000 won for one. (Not buying any other meat for awhile!) I think that i have seen sliced turkey there before, but it is wayyyy to expensive. I did pick up some sliced lunch meat in the shopping are near the Osan airbase. I'm sure that you can find it near Itaewon as well.
Fried onions.... look in the spice aisle at Costco. They often have huge containers of them alongside the spices. That's where I got mine the last time. As for green beans, since Costco stopped selling them, (who knows why!) I started having them brought over from the states. Sorry.. good luck finding them. Oh! Costco had the mushroom soup at the beginning of this month as well. (I shop at the Yangjae Costco) |

The Austrian deli the OP was asking about must be Chef Meili. It's nearby Itaewon subway station, just across the alley from Gecko's. It's three floors. The deli is on the first floor, the restaurant and rooftop patio are above. Look for the sign.
Turkeys are 62,000 won at Costco. Pretty large ones too. |

They sell cambell's soup at a lot of the department store, but I think the most reasonably priced place I've found is Sweet Space in Apgujeong and COEX. They were doing a buy one get one free last time I was there.
I have a can of French's en route this way. If I don't get a toaster, I'd be willing to part ways. My dad'll be back in a few weeks so I'll have regular access to the commissary again. |

| What about a big ham? Anyone know where to get a big ham? Not those lame little things in the supermarkets but a proper western-style ham? |

Ok, I've got to ask, what the hell are "fried onions"?
I thought this might be a trick thing, like "grilled cheese" which neglects to mention the key ingredient: bread. But no. There's no entry for "fried onions" on wikipedia and google didn't enlighten me.
I'm forced to conclude that "fried onions" are simply.. fried onions. As such, why the hell do you need to buy them ready made?? Everyone has a gas range and onions are cheap as anything. Unless there is some other secret kind of fried onion I don't know about. Hmm.. maybe onion rings?? Is that what you all mean?? |
