Doraemon, naruto, keraro, Pucca, and you can throw in a number of characters based off games such as Star Craft I suppose. |

The Simpson's and Shin Chan (Chan Goo in Korea), but I would only recommend them for High School, especially Shin Chan (played on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network back home). But kids watch it here, but I'm sure the translation is more tame, plus they censor out bad parts. Those crazy Japanese... |

They probably know Spiderman and Batman, although maybe not in cartoon form. You can try.
High schoolers will most likely know Sailor Moon (a few of my students still know the theme song too!) |

SPONGEBOB. My ms students are obsessed with it--they draw it on their notebooks all the time. They also chose to watch it when we had a movie week in my class.
Other than that...there's that Dooli character, and as someone else mentioned, anything from Miyazaki (Sen, Howl, Totoro). |

For some reason, many older Korean students know about the Teletubbies and Power Rangers. Maybe they are/were popular here (I have seen a Korean version of the Power Rangers on television). |
