I really need to buy some winter clothing and additional blankets. It's getting cold. Help a brother out.

Any possibility you'd part with the 50 1.8 AF separately? |

The settings are currently optimized for creative work and the manual focus 50/1.8 makes it a great tool for getting into places quietly and shooting with precision. The AF 50/1.8 on the other hand is a great portrait lens. Finally, the 24-85 makes for a great travel lens due to it's quick focus, large zoom range and relatively small size.
Don't be fooled by the megapixel race, the D200 is an excellent tool that and will not be soon made extinct. I've printed huge color photos from my D200 that can put 24 megapixel monsters to shame.
Asking price is 1,500,000 Won. |
In your opinion ... which is sharper? the MF 50 1.8 or the 1.8d? Any chance of parting with whichever one is sharper for a fair price? |

the series e 50 is razor sharp, that said, so is the afd as the camera only uses the sharpest part of the lens. if you were to shoot fx or film then the e series would win hands down, shooting dx however its a matter of whether you want af or a small profile mf.
and i'd rather not sell them separately unless the body goes first. |

While not cutting edge, the D200 is a solid camera that's got a nice prosumer body. |

If you go lower I am interested. I did repost your advertisement on Flickr IN Seoul's flickr group where someone was asking about buying a d200 or d300 so maybe someone else will come through on your offer. If they don't and you are willing to go lower than I am interested. |

Honestly I don't feel that I can get any lower. Surfing eBay should show that D200s are still going for as much as $1000 used and with a support package as comprehensive as what I'm offering, someone interested in jumping into true creative photography ought to be able to see what a deal this is.
As one of the other posters mentioned, the D200 really is a fantastic camera. I can promise you that unless you're regularly printing anything larger than 20x24 on high-end Epson printers you will never know the image difference between my D200 and whatever new prosumer camera Nikon releases.
If this were the good old days, the D200 would probably remain in production for a decade - it's really that good! Heck, if they were still available reliably I'd even buy a D70s! DSLRs have far surpassed what consumers actually need and have even surpassed what 35mm film could ever offer. |

I hate to burst your bubble...but...
D200's with a battery grip range from 660-750US on Ebay. Heck, even overpriced KEH.com sells them for 750 (with no battery grip).
Granted yours has a katzeye, but 1000US for a D200? That's way too much. Even Danawa lists them at 800,000W (about 670US, body only).
I think if you split up your package, you'll probably get some takers. It seems you already have that kind interest.
Otherwise, your best bet would be to sell your lot on auction or Gmarket, where you'll get more interest from people who would be willing to pay more.
DSLRs follow the car market model. The moment you own it, it's value decreases. You can pick up a used/factory demo d50/70/40/40x for about 300 on Ebay. A D300? They average 1200-1500US. By spring those prices will go down another 100-200US. |

i own a D200 and while it's still a top camera, you may not quite get what you want for it ... it breaks a person's heart that their beloved gear isn't worth what they think it should be.
the fact is that camera bodies drop in value quickly, as do all electronic devices. lenses on the other hand hold value. so you should be able to expect a reasonable return on your glass.
while accessories sweeten the deal, 2.75 gig of cf isn't very much for a camera that spits out 10mb raw files (7-8mb compressed).
you've also got two 50mm lenses ... which for most shooters is not necessary. the 24-85, while good, is a slow lens (not f2. and not a useful range (neither wide nor long).
the katzeye is nice ... but only useful with the manual focus 50mm lens. if you sell that lens separately, take the katzeye out of the D200 and offer it with the lens. the other lenses will auto focus, which is faster and more accurate in 90% of cases.
i love the D200, but i'm not selling mine because i won't get as much as i'd like for it.
you might need to drop your price a little ... or i'd recommend (as others have said) splitting your kit and selling it all separately. you will get buyers for your 50mm lenses. the body with 24-85 might sell as a set.
good luck mate! |

I'm seeing buy it now's for between $900 and $1100 not to mention i'm tossing in three lenses and a grip. even if we were to price my body at say 700 it'd be beyond 1000 after the addition of the accessories. remember, this is a complete package. i mean, if you've got nothing, absolutely nothing this will get you a complete set up.
i know keh and have sold and purchased a lot of products from them in the past and i know for a fact my camera would sell as nearly new. if you feel the need to deal, then lets deal. send me an offer and we'll discuss from there, but i think $1060.47 for a solid body that will last a lifetime plus three solid lenses, a vertical grip, great bag, memory cards and various accessories is a great pick.

if you take the katzeye split focus out of the d200 then the autofocus will no longer work. the camera and the package is suited to quiet, unobtrusive street photography and portrait shooting - sports when necessary under specific conditions.
of course two 50mm lenses isn't for everyone but if you're looking for a fairly discreet shooting package there isn't much better than the 50 i've got (good luck finding a 40/2.8 pancake).
