Maybe someone can help me.
As of 2 days ago, I get no sound from the internet - news video, youtube, live TV streams, nada...
However, I still get sound from my PC... games, CDs, movies downloaded from the internet, even iTunes radio.
Prior to the sound loss, I had not changed any settings, updated any new software, or anything like that - it just up and left me like a hooker who just got paid.
Any ideas? |

If you are running a surround system then your front left and right speakers might have become unplugged. |

XP pro...
All speaker cables connected...
I get sound for everything BUT the internet. Why would I be getting sound for iTunes, but not anything from the net?
Can't figure it out... |

This shit gets weirder...
I can now hear sound from Messenger, as in when a 'friend' signs in, which I couldn't yesterday... still no internet sound. |

I still suspect that for whatever reason, no signal is getting to your front speakers. iTunes plays through all 5 speakers on my system, so if the front two are disconnected, you may not notice it. However, internet audio is typically stereo, which goes to your front speakers. If they aren't receiving a signal, you won't hear anything. Again, that's my theory. |

He's not on a mac.
1. Go to your volume control panel. Go to advanced options or whatever it and check every single box. You should now have close to a dozen volume sliders. Find the one that shouldn't be down or muted and fix it.
2. If there wasn't a muted channel then you probably have a problem with with your flash player. Reinstall Adobe Flash.
3. Enjoy your sound.
(Note: this is assuming you did a good job checking all your cables and such.) |
