Are there such things as single sex hagwons in Korea? If not, why not?

In most of the young learners classes I have taught in Korea, there have been quiet, attentive girls who get on with their work and rowdy, disinterested boys who spend most of their time messing about. Of course, this is not always the case - I have taught good male students and bad female students - but generally speaking it has been true.

If I was the parent of a girl who wanted to learn English I'd much rather have her learning in a class full of other girls who want to learn than a class of loud, distracting boys who have no interest in learning English whatsoever.

I've never heard of a hagwon willing to turn down business on the basis of sex, but some do divide classes into boys and girls, more so for secondary school students. But be careful what you wish for. At my first job in Korea the worst class by far was all girls.

Yes

I indeed try to put girls and boys apart, the boys tend to break the concentration and the other way around.

Classes are organized depending on type of students, the active ones separated from the quiet ones.

They each require different teaching techniques.

Hagwons are ALL about money. I have NEVER heard of a single sex hagwon.
