I hope so! Tiger started operating out of Vietnam to Singapore and Thailand and made really expensive routes cheap a few years back. They're not a bad budgetcarrier either. If they'd do a route between here and Thailand that would make my day! |

I wouldn't recommend Tiger if you're over, say, 6 feet tall. You absolutely would have to reserve an emergency exit seat if you are [around an extra $25], otherwise the flight would be unbearable. I flew with them from Singapore to Perth and it was impossible to get comfortable. |

There's not going to be a low cost carrier in Korea and defintely not a foreign one offering typical competitive global free market place prices like seen outside of Korea.
Dam protectionists. Korea is over priced with it's limited products and services. It tauts a free market, but is in fact, a closed controlled market. It only satisfies Koreans, because they are brain washed into this nationalism shit which makes them one of the most boring people on Earth. If this were anywhere else other than the poorest countries, the people would be outraged and insulted. They actually think Korea products and services are the purest highest quality on Earth when it's over priced mediocre service. The weak won is a killer of what makes Korea attractive to go travel the world during time off so I'll cut my losses middle of next year if things are not back to 1000 Won to the US dollar and airfares back to normal.
Since what is in Korea is intended and geared only for Korean consumers and foreigners are often insulted by the prices paid to be severly limited, they could and should cut teachers and soldiers a break on the air ticket taxes. We're not the rich executives and well paid engineers who come to Korea, we're people of much more modest means. I know I'm a bit insulted by the taxes and high prices and small quantities and low levels of service present. If Korea really wants to open up, then it needs a free market.
Of course, we choose to voluntarily come here and it's not our place to try to correct Korea's shortcomings, but if we had that foreign teachers union, it could ask for and negotate terms at a country system level on our behalf to relieve us and the schools on air taxes and even get discounted fares.
That's my 2 won of opinion. |

Hansol Airlines just went bankrupt.
I can't see Tiger making a go of it for long. Korean Air and Asiana are just too dominant in their market. |
