So Obama has a lot of people to thank for helping him get to the White House. His friends and family, his campaign manager, all his supporters, blah blah blah. But here are four people that he didn't thank in his victory speech. Who should he send the biggest gift basket to? Twisted Evil

That's not one of the four (ironic) choices. Cool

Palin sealed the deal on this election. First she was qualified to defend the US because she could "see Russia" from Alaska. Then she was taking phone calls from the President of France...who turned out to be some comedians from Canada. I think these two events proved her competence. Let's be honest folks, after these gaffs who could seriously elect this woman.

Well, I think Sarah Palin hurt John McCain's campaign and helped Obama in more than one way. One, it showed that McCain was pandering so much to the Christian Right, and she made it hard for McCain to broaden his appeal. Two, she was weak on foreign affairs and has no federal experience. I have a feeling she is going to want to improve her knowledge of the world and spend a lot of time learning about foreign policy. She's a governor, not a federal person, and many people in America don't pay attention to world affairs. She is not unique in that regard. She is not dumb, but she showed herself to be an amateur in the major leagues, but she is probably very good in Alaska, and she wasn't prepared for what she had to do.

Edward Kennedy. His endorsement really helped in Massachusetts.

I suppose he could thank white guilt.

Yes, but I suspect that the reason he didn't bring up Rev. Wright was because it would be an invitation for the Democrats to bring up the Rev. Muthee, the witch-hunting anti-semite at Sarah Palin's church.

I 100% agree, Edward Kennedy was a "maverick" with his endorsement of Obama.

Why isn't Reagan on the list of choices? It was him who really showed Republicans how to cut taxes and spend, spend, spend while mistrusting government.

I voted for Oprah, but Ellen should get one too. Girl can dance.

But Colin Powell should have been a choice too. He told us that Obama is CIC material, and he should know.

Obama won the election because of the economy. The gift basket should be shared by any American who took on debt, whether it has been to finance a car, a war or two, a house or three, a night at the strip club, an engagement ring, or junk from China.

In the past, blacks were looked down upon by so many because their neighborhoods were poor. Now that Americans of all races are struggling financially and Spender in Chief Bush led the charge, I don't think blacks are looked down upon as much anymore and it made it possible for Obama to get enough of the white vote to win.

Maybe this should be the motto for the state of our economy: We're all African-Americans now. Very Happy

Dear old Senator Byrd already said that once. Only he used the vernacular of his backwoods background--pulling no punches. He used the term White N*ggers. But he was making much the same point.

Many of you are missing the implied irony in my poll! Twisted Evil

Anyway, my answer is Sarah Palin. I think she sealed the nail in McCain's coffin with some help from Katie Couric, Charles Gibson, Tina Fey and a couple Canadian pranksters.
