I was wondering how many English instructors here are also language students themselves.
If you are a language student - do you think this has made you a better English teacher. If so, why?
Also, is it important for a good English teacher to have experience as a language student? |

Going to korean class once a week has taught me a lot about the view from the other side of the desk. 'Game, teacher, game!' Really though its a good insight into which activities are engaging & useful & which are boring or frustrating. The experience has definitely influenced my presentation style. |

I think it's great because it at least helps you appreciate how difficult it is for students and so be more patient, less tempted to punch them repeatedly yelling 'How many times do I have to tell you this, you MORON!!'... |
