My fellow Americans,
Particularly those who hold an F4, work at Samsung or LG, or currently hold a credit card with a local Korean bank... some questions. My apologies in advance for beating a dead horse.
1) Is a US social security number required to apply for an F4, work at Samsung/LG, or apply for a credit card locally?
2) Same question but replace social security info. with passport number

1) No.
2) Yes as well as your F4 ARC card.
Basically if you have your passport + ARC you're good for anything. US Social Security doesn't mean jack because it's not a proper means of identification nor does the SS have anything to do with Korea. The information i got was that you can no longer open a bank account with just a passport like you used to be able to...and indeed when i opened my accounts they asked for both passport and ARC. |
