I often go to the university caferia and get Duk Baeggi (I can't spell it), and you get some seaweed with that. I love the stuff. I decided to buy loads of seaweed in packages from the store. I feel like my skin looks better, I've got more energy, and I was having some gas, and it's pretty much gone. I have several packets a day. I highly recommend it.
Does anyone else snack on seaweed? |

not only that, but seaweed contains large amounts of iodine, so if you eat a few kilos a day will never have problems with slightly-higher than normal levels of radioactivity! |

Korean food is definately hit or miss for me but I have to say I'm a big lover of seaweed. I even like the grassy stuff that goes on "bibimbop" (?). |

I don't really like it but I should probably eat it for the minerals. What do you find the best kind to eat out of the packet? |

I think you can find it in tons of places. Certainly Lotte, Emart etc. but there's smaller snacky versions of it in the 7-11 type corner stores too. |

I buy the one that says country dried laver, or the one that says in Korean Yan Ban, I believe, and sometimes the 7-11 packets.
I consume a few packets a day. It's good for you. It can be addictive, I find.
You could wrap it around rice and eat it. It's pretty good. They season it. |

just be careful, a lot of it is soaked and cooked in large amount of oil and absolutely covered in salt. try to get it as unprocessed as you can. |

The fried salty stuff is the only kind I really like. I eat all my seaweed soup if I eat in the cafeteria and it's part of the meal that day, but my attempts to introduce more of the healthy unseasoned and unsalted varieties into my diet at home have all failed horribly. Not even the promise of prettier skin can get me to eat greens in general regularly. Not delicious. |

I like gim well enough, but I prefer what we call dulse in Ireland. Just plain naturally dried seaweed.

How do you get the unprocessed one. They all seem to have flavoring on them. |

Guys, come on. Seaweed here is deep fried and then covered in salt. Those little packets that look like playing cards or the big ones to make kimbap is just like eating thin layers of fat at a time.
If you want to add green to your diet, get hooked on spinach. You can blend it into a smoothies, throw it on a sandwich, mix it in a soup, or a hundred other ways. It's also a fraction the cost of that deep fried seaweed.
Next thing you'll be telling me french fries are healthy because they're made from potatoes. |

By itself its great, but Koreans usually douse it with salt..making it quite unhealthy. |

Agreed. That's why I no longer buy the many-pack snacky ones. I go through them too quickly. I just buy the shredded stuff and put a little around my 주먹밥. |
