I got celluitis (which involved high temperature and fever like symptoms) on my leg over the weekend and by Monday morning I couldn't place any pressure on my foot without screaming like a bitch - anyway I took a load of painkillers and hobbled into work expecting a life and death struggle about working that day.

The bottom half of my leg looked red like a post box - hot to touch and swollen - the VP and the principal looked at it and said 'get to the hospital NOW and take the rest of the day off' so me and my co teacher went to the hospital in Bundang and the doc gave me a sick note for a week and a load of medication.

Next day - the VP came round my flat and brought a load of cakes while my co-teacher brought those del monte fruit drinks in a box.

They were great - I was expecting them to give me grief but they have been very considerate and fair - I thought I would share my experience!

Often we only hear the negative stories on Dave's. I had a similar experience as you, only I had the flu. My boss was very thoughtful and helpful.

Be careful with that. I almost lost a lower leg to cellulitis and a subsequent anaerobic infection.

I'm glad you got the time off-when I was having the 5 day orientation last year, on the 2nd night I could not put any pressure at all on my right foot; what was scarier was I had taken IV before coming over because I had it in my left the month before in Canada-here in South Korea extra strength tylenol did the trick-although I had fever induced nightmares.

Good on your school administration!!!
