The Bush Dynasty: It Aint Over Yet?
By The Editorial Board
It would seem that after the last eight years and opinion polls showing President Bushs approval rating in the high 20s the nation may have had enough of the whole Bush family.
But at least one person doesnt think so: former president George H.W. Bush.
In an interview that aired on Fox on Sunday, he encouraged his son Jeb to run for the Senate from Florida, and added: Id like to see him be president some day.
The former president is not entirely oblivious to the damage that has been done to the Bush brand in the last eight years. Right now, he noted, is probably a bad time.

This has got to be the understatement of the century? |

I'd like to see a robot that transformed into a photosynthetic "trapazoidal" shape and into then into a helicopter be president.
Given what GHWB has done to his family name, I can't imagine how any associated with him could be elected. |

Didn't he leave us with a whopper of a recession as well? |

Jeb is 55 now. He's going to have to hurry. If Obama is at all competent, he will be hard to unseat in 4 years--it can be done (just ask his dad) but it is difficult. 55 + 8 = 63. That isn't too old, but it's around there people begin to take age into consideration.
At least as important: Can he out-campaign Sarah Palin? |

That wasn't H.W.'s fault. No, what H.W. got busted for was raising taxes, i.e., trying to balance the budget. |
