where do i find city maps of anyang? i tried online but that doesn't work. I really want to go exploring in this city, but the lack of a street map is slowing me down.
also, right now, I really want to know how far beomgye station is from pyeongchon station, i know it's just the next stop over, but in terms of walking distance, how far is it? I know i live near beomgye, but i'm wondering if pyeongchon is even closer |

Just take the exit out of beomgye station where it goes straight into the main area and keep walking straight. You'll have to cross a few streets, but you'll get to pyeongchon station fairly quickly.. it's only about a 15 minute walk away. Just look for the Emart.
As for maps.. online is your best bet. Unfortunately, there won't be much in English.

This map is centered on Beomgye station. To the right, if you follow the light blue line, is pyeongchon station. See if that helps... |

My mental map is pretty bad, but I am pretty sure if you walk down the main strip in beomgye walking away from the subway station and just keep walking you should hit some part of the pyeongcheon main block and at least be able to find your way to the e-mart. Its about a fifteen minute walk and you pass a park or two on the way. Anyway, if you know how to read hangul, just run beomgye through the naver.com search engine and click on the map when it comes up. The map shows the subway lines and major landmarks (like kims club, e-mart, the park, etc.) If you get lost, just ask where the e-mart is. And dont let them take you to sanbon! |

15 minutes by foot, if you walk quickly
Pyeongchon station is directly beside the Walmart |

It is an Emart now. As others have said - 15 min walk. |

Why the change? Is Walmart pulling out of Korea?
Sorry for the inaccurate info, I've been out of the area for a couple of years. |

With a big chain like E-mart, you should be able to just hop in a cab and say "E-mart." For the return trip, have your Korean teacher write your address in Korean so you can show it to cab drivers. |

If you go to most major bookstores in Korea they have a section of Seoul map books. Very helpful, and kind of interesting. Since I spend most of my time underground on the subway it is very hard to get a feel for the city layout. Try exploring on a neighborhood bus too, just get on and ride it around in order to get a look at things. |
