the cost of the 3d scan will vary from hospital to hospital. We paid between 20-50k won on the occasions when we had it done.
When you leave the hospital (actually ask the doctor before checkout time) you should take 2 copies of the hospital issued birth certificate in Korean and 2 more in ENGLISH. These should have the doctors signature and hospital stamp on them. They usually give them to you when you pay the bill at checkout time.
The documents you need to obtain the baby's VISA are:
Baby's passport,
Passport of the family sponsor parent (if both parents are E2 then either one is OK).
Citizenship registration (or proof of said application from YOUR embassy).
2 passport type photos
application
50k won registration fee
10k ARC fee.
The documents needed for the baby's PASSPORT application vary depending on the nationality of the parents. Check with YOUR embassy for specifics.
EDITED in:
NOTE: You MUST register the baby at immigration WITHIN 30 days of the birth (assuming neither parent is Korean). If one parent is Korean then there is no worry.
If you don't have the home country birth registration you can make the visa application with just the receipts (proof of application) and return at a later date to complete the registration process after you have the passport and birth registration from your home country.
FAILURE to register the baby at immigration within 30 days of the birth WILL result in fines and visa issues later.

you mean 20-50K ....it means 20,000 - 50,000 won
Am I right.
I hope you understand. I dont want to spent more than 100,000 won for my 3D scan. Doc says my baby is healthy. So its an optional for us whether to have it or not.
So a bit confused |
