What is the easiest, cheapest online TEFL course? Nothing more than 60 hours, of course...

Not sure about other schools, but you only get a pay increase with the SMOE for a 100+ hour course...

Hours don't matter. Definitely going for the 60 hour course. Just need the most internet-friendly, cheapest, least time-consuming course there is.

University of Ko San road in Bangkok. 120 hour course certificate for $20 (or less depending on your bargaining ability). You can get a DELTA for just about the same price.

You can also get them from the University of Wangfujing in Beijing or Temple Street University in Hong Kong.

Or did you actually want to learn something?

Barely care about learning something... I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Can't do Koh San Road, though, because I already told my prospective boss I am only doing a 60 hour online course. Anyone???

What do they teach that makes it worth 1.2 million won? Or is it less because the exchange rate is so bad? Do they give a text book? Is it really worth it? You would need at least a 100,000 won increase in salary by the looks of it to make it worth it.

It isn't always about the increase for that time. Having the 100 hour certification will allow you to get:

1) A better bargaining start for another school. You would probably get the 100,000 increase from your current school, but you would probably get a better starting salary plus be able to negotiate for better benefits (vacation, type of apartment) from another school as well.

and/or

2) Allow you to teach in other places (Europe for example) where you have to have that certification and a 4 year degree to teach. (The classes in US and Europe are 2k+)

http://www.teflhouse.com/Courses.htm

cost is 295 for the 60 hour online one, i did it, it's a complete waste of time to be honest, and they are yet to send me out my paper saying i did it, and it's been 2 years... although my g.f got hers so it could be just an accident, i tried ringing them during the week but they were not there, must ring again soon!!

OK... here's the thing. ANY CERTIFICATION WILL DO. Forget about that graph the public school uses. I interviewed, they liked my personality, but they said I needed just a tiny bit more training... that ANY certification will do. I'm busy as hell right now, and just want to know the easiest, shortest, cheapest means of certification.
