Anyone know of any good camera repair shops (preferably ones that speak English)? Is it even worth it to go or should I just chuck this one and buy a new one?
I'm having a lens problem on my Canon Powershot SD750. It won't go back into the camera when I turn it off, so the camera always looks like it's on and ready to take pictures... which it will not do when it is turned on. |

Do you get an Error 99 on your screen?
If you don't, it could be that you have some sand or buildup blocking the lens from retracting.
If you're a DIYer do a search on Flickr for your camera or another camera from Canon, and follow the steps for taking it apart.
It's not as difficult as it sounds, it's just a pain to clean and put back together.
I've taken apart a few electronics, and if I write down or take pictures of my progress, it's usually easier to put things back together.
Good luck. |

Sorry, the above link is for the SD400, similar body, so it may help. Here are some more tips:

Again, good luck. If you can't put it back together, at least you tried, and it was better than just giving up on it. |
