i bought an adapter from coex. there was a major language barrier between us. i wanted an adapter that would downgrade 220v current to 110v current, for my u.s ps2. but i'm not sure i got the right goods. i dont read korean, so i don't know what the package says. my k teacher says it wont work with my u.s electronics, but shes a woman, so maybe she doesn't know about electronics shit. how do i tell if this thing will blow up my ps2?

it's like a autobot transformer, it's got 3 pieces that can be attached/seperated. there's a led that says 110v and 230v, but there should be some sort of swithc, no?

did the guy at coex rip me off? cuz i think he knew what i was trying to get at. it cost 15 dollars

An ADAPTER does NOT change voltage. It just changes the plug type (flat to round) and may detect the voltage (lights that glow to show).

To change voltage you need a transformer. The smallest ones are a bit bigger than your fist (think "brick" on a laptop computer power cord).

At the large end they are as big as a breadbox.

Without looking at either your "adapter" or the label on it we could not say for sure what you bought.

The label should read something like:
input 110-240VAC
output 110-125VAC

IF it says something different then you are unhappy.

As an alternative, just go buy a new PS2 power pack. Then you will be happy for sure.

Dammit!!! I just wasted 15 dollars. I would just get a new ps2 power chord, but I brought over a gamecube as well (yeah, i'm that much of a geek), so i might as well buy the transformer converter.

Ask for a "tranz", and expect to pay in the 40 to 50k range.
