Does anyone know where one can get frozen puff pastry (phyllo) online in Korea? I'd love to make some baklava, but my pastry skills aren't that great yet.

Thanks!

Phyllo dough isn't puff pastry. One puffs and one give the mille-feuille effect that is drying and crispier. Even the halal stores don't sell baklava. Maybe you have to find out what language they speak at that store and then find out what phyllo dough is in their language. Or google various middle eastern products that match your description and bring the printout.

Right--I'd be happy finding either, and even happier to find it online, since we live way out in the sticks. Very Happy

I've had baklava in Itaewon, but I think it was made in-house.

Perhaps you could have a Korean friend contact these two baking websites and they can refer you to where to get it.

www.ezbaking.com OR www.bakingschool.co.kr

You could also ask at the Greek restaurant (Santorini's) in Iteawon.

I heard they have it frozen at one of the international marts in Itaewon...sometimes, but you gotta ask. If you go, try to find a picture to bring. If you ask at the International Market on the hill, ask the young dude that's always smiling...the big dude doesn't like to chatter with customers.
