With a W450,000/mth housing allowance from the hagwon, I'm looking around for an apartment for me, my wife and one daughter. Looking for anything at W5M key money or below. What can I or should I expect to find? As Westerners, we want a bathtub and stove, open to everything else.
1. I don't know anything about pyong, so I need help knowing what size is what.
2. Do realtors ask for a commission if I go through one? Do I need to (I know the jurisdiction of each one is very limited)?
3. My last place was a villa, wife wasn't with me. It was supposedly a two-room, but not nearly big enough, and was in a run-down area (called Korea, hahaha). Should I avoid villas?
4. What better can I hope to find for the key money I have? |

| Just wondering: will a W5,000,000 (or less) deposit get me something under W500,000 per month in a decent area? |

I'll try.

I'm no expert, but my guess is probably no. maybe a larger key money could do it.

pyong isn't used anymore. the government now requires all measurements to be quoted in square-metres.

yes they do (very reasonable though), and I would very well advise you to use one, unless your Korean is proficient enough to read and understand contracts. |
