| I signed a contract a while ago and it states that I shall give a 2 week notice if I choose to resign. The contract starts Jan. 5, 2009. Am I still in the right if I give them my notice today that I don't plan on working for them? It is 2 weeks in advance but I haven't started working for them yet. Thanks. |

Do you have a visa yet or are you on an F-series?
IF you are waiting for an E2 (not issued yet) then you are fine.
If you have a visa or visa confirmation number you can quit but you will have to wait until it expires (90 days from issue) before you can seek a new job.
If you are "F" then tell them no and move on. There is nothing they can do.
