|

There is a lot I like about this site, but I'm upset right now. I posted a new topic in the Job-related forum this morning about 10:00 am CST, and it was apparently deleted. I've re-read the forum guidelines, and I don't see how the post violated them. I'm told to PM a moderator, but I can't PM yet since I don't have 25 posts.
Needless to say, I'm frustrated. There has to be a better way of handling these situations. |

Was your thread that idiotic one about how "Western women need to diet"? Because if it was you can blame me; I reported it. |

What was it about? We need to know that if we are to speculate.
(A suggestion - read everything and post wherever possible until you have 25 posts...just make it a little worthwhile, otherwise people will start to despise you) |

My post was about the possibility of doing private tutoring for SAT, GRE, etc., and what the market would be for that. I wanted to know what people were likely charging and how much I could make using that strategy.
I'm guessing it was whacked because a mod thought I would be violating my visa by doing private tutoring -- but I clearly stated that I would be going to Korea with my wife, so it should have been clear that I could do this on a spouse visa. |

I refuse to make dumb, unnecessary comments to get to 25 posts, but I don't understand that rule. Newbies are the ones who most need to be able to PM. |

There is a sticky that deals with that question, and all discussion has been relegated to that sticky. |

There was a lot of abuse made by freshly created accounts. |

The sticky is about private lessons in conversational English. It certainly doesn't address my question asking for ideas as to whether or not there would be a demand for SAT tutoring. A lot of people who might have ideas probably won't revisit that thread, but I guess I'll have to post in it anyway. |

If I were going to abuse the board, though, I could make 25 posts in about 25 seconds. |

Okay, but that only lasts for a minute or so. |
