Speculators,

Hearing the news about South Korea being on the verge of another recession, and the double whammy of the labour unions possibly adding to the instability, who feels that another 1997 is coming?

Send most money home?
Prepare employment back home?

Disclaimer: I know nada about this stuff...just want some perspectives.

Shoosh,

Ryst

If it is just the money that you are worried about then back home won't be any better. The last time here when the IMF thing happened something like 80% of our lot left. For those who stayed things were much the same except for the exchange rate thing in reguard to sending money home.

Cost of living didn't go up overnight. Things however have been going up ever since but gradually. Most that go home aren't able to save money once they have a city job back home so it ends up a toss up to where you would prefer to live. I can live better here than I can back home and have a more interesting life.

I am however preparing a back up plan in case things get really bad and I do have to go home.

I don't think it will be any better at home during a recession, and sending money back home to that mess isn't the best solution either.

I think you are stuck.
