If you're interested in exchanging lessons with me on a one-for-one basis just PM me.

The requirements:
I'm only interested in lessons that you've taught to at least 4 different classes and that have received positive feedback from the students. I'm not interested in theoretical lesson ideas.

I've taught some weak lessons and some okay lessons, and occasionally I'll teach a lesson that goes really well with all my classes. I'll be sharing the lessons that went really well.

is it sad that no one has replied to this?

i am interested, but i would like to know a bit more about you.

i have been teaching at a public middle school for 5 years now, some of my lessons kick butt, while others are still being developed.

how long and where are you teaching?

also, my lessons are made to do with a coteacher that is competent but understands that i am in charge (yes, i have 4 dream CTs, good English, respect me and my class, come to class, etc)

Yeah, it is sad that so many teachers don't want to share. I have some pretty good lessons that I've developed in my two years, but I'd like to get some of equal quality in return.

I just make them stand up and recite the dialogues from the text book.

It's speaking practice, I work on pronunciation and confidence.

It's near the end of the year so I'll be taking song lyrics and making clozes from them, and then playing the songs and letting them listen for the missing words.

True, it is sad. I was hoping for some interest.

About me, I taught one year at an elementary school, one year at a high school and now I'm starting at a middle school.

My co-teachers have always sat at the back of the class during my lessons so, my lessons are structured as solo lessons. But I feel that my co-teachers this year would be eager to team teach so, I'd be interested in trying out one of your co-taught lessons.

I also believe that teachers who take the time to develop a lesson should be fairly compensated for their time and effort..

I don't believe in wordsearches.

maybe for the few of us that are interested, we can organize a get together. we could bring photocopies, pictures, or CDs with files with all of our lessons to trade with each other. if it is only a few people, i think that can work well, and assuming they live near each other.

Or you could just send a PM to ddeubel (someone else know davids user name?) and upload anything that you have to his site. I've gotten a lot of ideas from his site, but I've also made and adapted a lot of my own stuff to fit my students abilities

I have no interest in joining such a club purely because of:

A - The age group I teach and

B - Because I tailor my lessons to my classes, I wouldnt want anyone to use them because it's less effort!

I highly commend you for starting such a post though!!!!

Maybe

http://www.4shared.com/

I think it would serve your needs. You can upload your stuff to it and only share it with people who have your password.

I have used this link loads in the UK and I would recommend it!!!!!

Most ESL websites I've seen include a collection of lesson ideas that can be incorporated in a lesson. I was hoping to focus on complete lessons that have already been proven effective in a Korean public school classroom.

I set up a forum tonight with a general outline.
http://www.eslcafekorea.freemybb2.com/index.php
The structure would be, each thread is a single lesson. Members can reply to the thread and discuss how successful the lesson was when they used it and any variations/changes they made to the lesson.

The forum has a rating system. So each lesson can be rated and sorted by rating. It also has a reputation system. I'm also hoping that the general forum takes off. The way its set up, as topics are discusssed, information can be pulled out and sub-forums can easily be created to better organize the information. I think that with most forums, its difficult to separate the useful information from the side comments and personal attachs.

Here is a simple lesson. Show the youtube video Tyson on the Oprah show.

Have the kids make up 5 sentences of 7 words or more. Have them read out their answers. make sure they learn how to use the word "and"

Google David A Finch publications. There is a worksheet that asks all the students info like bday, likes and hobbies. Have them fill it out while teaching them about horoscopes and zodiac signs.

Next class have them learn 5 facts about their friends sheet and have them introduce their friend to you.

Like this is my friend Jo and she is 15 years old and her fav colour is blue and she dreams of being a Dr and she likes to eat pizza and and and.

It helps them to practice "she and her".

I have a separate room where I interview them in groups of four.
or you could do the introductions in the hall.

Send one member of each group out of the room. Show a short video. have the kids tell the one who was outside what happened and that person presents in front of the class.

Do it twice in one lesson so 12 kids get to speak. Go from table to table talking to give them practice.

Divide them into 6 groups. Give them any activity to keep them occupied. Have you and the co-teacher sit down with each group and just talk for about 7 minutes each group.

After 3 weeks of this you will notice the kids talking more as you are connecting with them as people rather than a teacher at the front of the class.

youtube korean shows with subtitles. show an episode of we are married.

Have the kids write 5 sentences about what is going on. Go and sit with each group and ask them stupid questions.

Who is Crown J?
What is his nickname?
Who is he married to?
What's his job?
How many kids do they have?
none? why not?..................

Talk to them about their fav. singers and ask them lots of stuff about the singers.

Most important is that they can write and speak sentences of 7 words or more.
