|
Hello,
I just wanted to know whether it was worth it - in saving time, money and hassles - to ship down a barrel of household items for my new place in Busan? Is it too much of a pain in the ass? I will be teaching with EPIK with my girlfriend and we wanted to know whether there will be enough stuff in the apt. to make it liveable?
If it is, do any of you know a company that handles shipping out of Toronto? I know of other cargo companies in the area, but they only deal with the Caribbean.. Thanks in advance... ovrproof |

I wouldn't if I were you. Find out if there were previous teachers, because they might hand down the stuff to you (if you don't mind used stuff) If there weren't, all the household stuff like pots and pans are quite cheap in Korea. I remember when I was there the first time, I had to buy everything brand new, I think it was around 200,000 W for all the household products.
Now if you don't know where to shop, you can always try online shopping at gmarket.co.kr or auction.co.kr, and it's cheaper than to store shopping, in my opinion anyway.
Hope it helps. |

People are always having moving out sales. Pick up household goods cheaply there.
Also, your place is goign to be SMALLER than you think, so shipping aton of things might not be a good idea when you find out you have no room for it.
The only think you can't get over here is probably a George Foreman grill. Other than that, you can buy everything else. |

My neighbor is rockin' the Foreman grill these days. Just bought it a few months ago, found it at Homever of all places! |
