If you are in Busan, there are some adjummas that are out on the street, near Nampo Dong. You can exchange K won for US bucks or Jpn yen and the rate is slightly better than the banks.

I am not kidding, by the way.

I imagine there are similar places in Seoul, but I don't know.

In Namdaemun market you'll find the aforementioned money laundering adjumas. They will usually give you a better rate than banks (but some banks give special rates to preferred customers).
