I saw an ad posted for SLP Headquarters. They are looking for curriculum developers and textbook writers.
I know the reputation SLP has amongst its branches, but does anyone know what this particular job is like?
Thanks |

I'm curious about this position as well. I've already got an interview lined up for this Friday. I have to make a 10 - 15 minute presentation for the interview. I'm assuming this is a pretty good gig. The pay is "negotiable." I'd hope they are willing to offer at least 4 - 5 million for a 40-hour-a-week job.
What sort of curriculum do they develop? Mr. Lee, the director, has been sort of vague about this. |

Vague because it's slave labor. |

| I just got a job offer from different company for a curriculum development job, and they are only offering 2.4 for a 40 hour workweek. Seems low but I have never worked in the field. What is the average pay for this position? What is the work like? Is it really that bad? |

You are going to be very disappointed when it comes time to talk salary. I negotiated 2.7 with another company to do curriculum development and they backed out after they found someone cheaper. |

LOL...'curriculum development' in Korea usually means raiding other sources for ideas, rewriting content, and then pawning it off to in-house students. They'll pay some naive foreigner 2.5 a month to crank out 'books' and 'tests', and then turn around and sell the stuff for buckets of cash.
These are totally joke jobs. Don't bother. |

Thanks for the replies. I've done curriculum work before where I made the material from scratch. It was difficult and time-consuming. There's no way I'd do it again for less than 5 million. It sounds like they won't be willing to offer that, so I guess I won't even bother showing up for the interview.
Again, thanks for your info. |
