I'm making some rock bands amongst my girls's high school students (Jack Black eat your heart out). We've got the guitars/bass/mics/amps but no drum kit, I'm looking for something like the one below to give us something to practice on:

The prices in the shops in Daegu for a new one are way too much.
I know it's a long shot but does anyone know how much I could get a used real drum kit for over here? I'm not talking Pearl kits or Zinjan cymbals, just something they can bash the hell out of. I've seen a new Yamaha kit in Daegu for 1.3, would it be possible to pick something up around the 500,000 mark??

I don't suggest getting electronic pads that are small and attached like that. If you are looking for a drum set so a group can play together, you should get a real acoustic drum set. If the student who is the drummer simply wants something to practice on, they can either mute the heads with cloth or get practice pads the size of real drum heads ( like this one http://cj.shop.com/USB_Electronic_Drum_Kit_and_So_ION_IED05-77555164-96882134-p!.shtml?sourceid=23 ) USB Electronic Drum Kit and Software ION-IED05 |

Music stores are few and far between outside of Nakwon Sangga. I'm guessing used gear is sold online or through classifieds.
I'm sure you can find a dirt cheap beater of a drum kit if you look around. Your school can probably help you. I know they can get student prices on many different instruments. |
