ok, so I have a week off for the new years and i dont' have enough $$ to travel away from korea... any ideas of good times in korea. I'm looking for something special that me and a few buddies can do. I mean i know we can always head to seol and spend new year in some night club but i was thinking of something more unique, maybe a ski lodge , or some cabin somewhere in the mountins,, does anybody have ideas or suggestion of stuff we can do?

If you only have a day or two, MOST DEFINITELY avoid a trip to the East Sea (Kangreung/Sokcho and the like). Traffic there and back on the 31st/1st is worse than Chuseok and Seolal combined. It seems that every Korean couple goes there to watch the New Years sunrise. Fun, it ain't. Avoid Kangwon at that time like the plague.
