the highschoolers in my special after school class informed me today that almost every boy in school has downloaded "Korean porn" unto a memory stick or some kind of such memory device.
"very easy" they laughed.
my curiosity was stoked by this concept of "Korean porn", I asked if it wasn't just Western porn, but No... "Korean" they all said.
I'm actually a little surprised that this exists given the local culture. How could an identifiable actor or much worse.. actress actually walk around in public and be "recognized"? 
so now I'm genuinely 'curious' - maybe I'll have to arrange for one of them to give me an "outside of school" showing or something (it's HORRIBLE how these kids are corrupting ME, don't you think?)
on a sidenote.. in a word search puzzle I handed out in class today, one kid didn't find or care to find a single listed word, but incredibly managed to find the word "sex" about 4 times in the puzzle thru the most twisted combinations, even though the word obviously wasn't on the list and it was a random, computer generated alphabet set and those were the only 4 words (well one word) circled  |

| ahhh...does anyone really need to explain to you that watching porn (even outside of school) with your students isn't something that should even be entering your head. Think of what would happen to a teacher in your own country who got caught exposing children (minors) to pornography (even if it was the students'). May want to gain control of your curiosity before it gets you in over your head. |

korean porn exists. a brief search of torrents will reveal that. ask around to your korean friends first, dont watch it with your students.
how could a country where over 80 percent of the population visits prostitutes NOT have porn? well... i guess for that reason the demand might be lower, but still. |

I suppose you're right, but this didn't enter my head.. it entered theirs.
and, it would be them that would the the exposers.
but you're right of course.. this is kryptonite.
anyways, has anyone seen this "korean porn" they speak of and is there anything different about it (I suppose it'd be interesting for about 1 minute before I'd yawn and switch to something else like a computer game. |

| I hear ya. We are supposed to be teacher, buddy and entertainer all rolled in one. Sometimes we just got to remember there are lines that can't be crossed for our own good no matter how low the bar is set in Korea. |

you're right. Thanks for the reminder. needless to say, I would have NEVER introduced, much less brought up the concept of porn ,etc myself, but my guard came down when it was introduced to ME.
I'm always very much of a "straight arrow" with my kids (per teacher "protocol", but when I catch them make a funny masturbation reference - for e.g. I had them draw what they did during vacation and one kid drew a guy sitting on his bed (thankfully with nothing more graphic) and pointed to his classmate and said he masturbate, I wasn't sure how to respond - so I just went along with what came naturally and laughed.
or when my highschoolers who otherwise can't put together a single phrase much sentence in English run around saying "I like sex" - I'm not sure how to respond to that one either
usually I smile and then proceed as if though nothing unusual has happened, whereupon the topic "disappears" until they bring it up the next time
oh - a funny story
I showed the kids a pic of myself on a motorcycle with an ex, and they all got excited.. and started yelling... wife-uh, wife-uh?
I said no... an ex girlfriend.
why no marry teachuh - you no like girls?
I couldn't really explain to the kiddies, that of COURSE I like "girls", hence THAT is the reason I am not married  |

plenty of korean porn here.. most of it is online with their servers running out from canada or USA.. as full porn is illegal here..
the dvd porn industry can not shoot below the waist line..
the videos are pathetic by the way.. the online ones shot in USA for the korean market are full blown at times.. but usually the government go after these people also becuase they are koreans ...
but hey, nothing wrong with teenagers watching porn..
just go back to your highschool and remember what you and friends were doing...
in my school it was, sex, drugs, booze, tobacco and rap music hahahaha |

I haven't really seen Japanese porn either, but have heard about that shrieking sound the women constantly make..
wouldn't that get really old and annoying after about say... oh 30 seconds?'
hmmm love motel... hopefully if I'm ever in one of those here, I won't be there to watch any "Korean tv"
the whole korean highschool boy 'sex thing' is amusing, because on one hand, it's perfectly "normal" given the age group and their hormones beginning to run amok , but given their seemingly retarded attitudes about sex/sexuality and "dating', even, I just find it amusing. Their "mental" development on the topic easily runs several years behind.
(which is true for most boys, but Koreans easily lag their Western counterparts)

| Turn on your tv after 12 am....flip through some channels till you see some guy in a Han bok and top hat laying pipe into a princess....and the comedy channel runs soft core porn shows with a funny twist....surprised ol Comedy central back home doesn't do that... |
