No, let it out. Free speech, no matter how ugly, is the way forward.

I mean this in the context of Dave's Terms of Service, but in a larger sense as well.

IMO: racism and sexism should be permitted out from beneath the skanky little rock it dwells under, so that it can be fried by the sunlight of rational argument. That kind of stuff flourishes in dark places, and banning it is like putting fertilizer on a weed, or bandaids on melanoma.

What do you think?

And of course, I have no illusions about the TOS being changed, but I'm curious what people think here.

In the appropriate places, it should be permitted and ridiculed...but this is a forum about living in korea..there is an off topic forum for that kind of rubbish...

If the mods didn't delete all the offensive posts put up on a daily basis, the site would instantly turn into a unusable cesspool of flame wars.

I think the site would benefit from the mods treating posters more like adults not less. People tend to meet the expectations set for them, no more no less.

Yes, you must absolutely ban it. Freedom of speech has no business being on the internet!

Racism and sexism should not be banned, as long as it's also not banned for sensible people to bootfuck the idiots.

Yeah, I think so too. As they haven't yet mastered the putting-your-boot-through-the-internet-into-somebody's-face technology yet, though, I think trouncing people with superior arguments and making them reveal how dumb and lame they are should be an alternative. Though of course this isn't the place for it...Dave's got a business to run after all.

It has its place

and

this isn't it.

Just because the Americans are permitted under their constitution to spew out that crap under the guise of "freedom of speech" does not make it wanted or tolerable in most places. Intolerance and hate mongering are a cancer on society and should be treated as such.

If you want it, there are lots of places to find it.
http://www.kkk.com is a good place to start your journey. While you are at it, put another log on the fire, cook me up some bacon and some beans. Go there to get your daily dose of racism and sexism.

Personally, I think that people who spew forth such drivel should be banned from these forums (as indicated in the TOS). This is NOT your private play place and the person who does own it has indicated that he does not want it here (as indicated by the TOS).

Limits for the greater good are the norm in many places (and this is one of them).

Flame proof underwear has now been added to my wardrobe.
Racists and sexists can feel free to flame away. You can send your flame mail to: [email protected]

Who decides what is racism or tongue-in-cheek piss taking? Some of the people here are overly PC. I myself am of Asian ethnicity and I can take a joke about it (providing it has some wit).
Its usually the white people who decide for us what is racist or not, which I do find slightly patronizing at times.
Anyway, someone needs to pass the anti-racism memo on to the Korean netizens. If they think this forum is offensive, the need to check out some of the Daum pages where foreigners are regularly denounced as smelly, diseased, pothead dropouts.

Suppose I say "Men tend to have more upper body strength than women."? This is undeniably sexist, and also undeniably true. Should telling the truth get you banned? Few would say so in this case, since the situation is so obvious. But suppose I say "Men tend to have greater mathematical ability than women."? This is also undeniably sexist and also studied to death and undeniably true. However, lots of people are unaware of this and want to remain ignorant, so the feminazis and their craven male lickspittles would likely want someone saying this banned. The question boils down to this: Which do you think is more important - pandering to the hysterical emotions of militantly ignorant troglodytes or making society better by spreading the truth?

No saying men can't have babies isn't 'sexist' it is a fact.
sexist is saying men are better. Better being a quality. In the sentence "Men have more upper body strength than women." You have two important facts
stronger is not de facto better
exeption-all those female weight lifters at the olympic games...for example versus asthmatic underweight me.

My uncle is Singaporean-Chinese but he told me that mainland Chinese people are a bunch of stupid peasants.
Is that racist? Would it be different if a white man said it?
