I have a legit copy of XP Pro and I want to re-format my computer. I still have to get the drivers for it since it's a laptop and I somehow doubt Windows will recognize the built in hardware (cause it's windows and we all know what that's like) . My problem is I don't have the XP install CD. What can I do?
Can I use a different CD and use my code? |

Is the Key for Windows XP OEM or Retail?
You can't use a OEM key on a Retail CD or vice versa.
There are plenty of CD images floating about the internet I am sure you could download one and use it.. |

I think it's OEM. The guy said it came installed on the computer. |

Just download a copy of win xp off piratebay....also keys given by keygens work fine.....a non-legit key works fine for windows update....they defeated the piracy protection along time ago....my school's computer gave me a cracked copy using a non-legit key...I've been using non-legit keys for years now...even though I own a legit copy(I'm lazy). |

If you want to stay 100% legit, you can probably call the manufacturer of the computer and ask them to send you a disc. They might do it for free but most likely it'd cost you like $10 USD or something like that. |
